Tennis—Boys’ Varsity

For a few days each spring, Thacher’s ten well-maintained hardcourts play host to competitive matches between nationally ranked players in that tournament.  While several Thacher students do compete in The Ojai each year, that’s just a few days in the life of our tennis program. Ojai’s wonderful weather provides a great setting for year-round play whether the occasion is simply sharing volleys with a friend on a weekend or competing at the varsity level in the highly competitive Southern Section of the California Interscholastic Federation. With a full JV and varsity schedule, the tennis program has a home for boys who are just learning the sport as well as those who would like to play in college. The varsity team’s success has consistently earned them playoff berths, and in the century of tennis here at Thacher, our teams have won numerous championships and sent scores of young men to play at the college level.
