We are saddened to report that James Griffin Boswell II CdeP 1941, a devoted graduate and friend of The Thacher School, passed away on April 3, 2009.

Mr. Boswell, known as JG, served as a trustee of the School in the late 60s and early 70s. In 1991, Thacher's newly enlarged library was renamed the James G. Boswell II Library in recognition of his dedication to Thacher and of the longstanding relationship between the Boswell family and the School. Most recently, JG and his son James W. Boswell CdeP 1970 supported The Campaign for Thacher with a gift to name the theater in the Milligan Center for the Performing Arts in memory of Rosalind Murray Boswell.

Other Boswells to attend Thacher included Mr. Boswell's son James W. Boswell CdeP 1970; nephews William G. (“Sandy”) Larson, Jr. CdeP 1962 and John W. Boswell CdeP 1970; grandchildren Elizabeth Boswell CdeP 1995 and Cameron M. Boswell CdeP 1997; and grandniece Megan A. Boswell CdeP 2005.

Obituaries can be found on the websites of the Los Angeles Times and the Fresno Bee.
